Redd’s Pub is not a standard live-music bar where a singer performs on a distant stage while the staff works around the show. Helen “Redd” Barrow is both the owner and the singing bartender, and on designated nights guests choose songs from a large request book while she serves the room and performs. That unusual format makes the pub one of the area’s most personal entertainment experiences, but it also means visitors should understand the weekly schedule before arriving.

The current official site lists dinner service Tuesday through Saturday, with the kitchen generally operating until 9 p.m. and the pub open later. Redd’s request-driven singing is promoted on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday evenings. Wednesday features an adults-only bingo program, while Friday is associated with live bands. Lunch is currently advertised Wednesday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. These programs change and special events can replace the regular pattern, so the live calendar remains essential.

Food is made to order and goes beyond bar snacks. Current menus promote burgers, ribs, brisket, sandwiches, salads, nachos, mac and cheese, pizza-style items, rotating meat-and-three plates, and desserts. The small kitchen and limited seating mean the meal may unfold at a different pace than a high-volume chain restaurant. Guests attending primarily for entertainment should still plan to order dinner when the reservation or event policy requires it.

Because alcohol and late-night entertainment are central, adults should arrange a driver or rideshare. Families may be comfortable at lunch or an early dinner, while the Wednesday bingo program is specifically promoted for ages 18 and older.

Redd’s works best for visitors who want interaction rather than background music. The performer responds to the room, song requests shape the night, and the compact space encourages conversation among guests. Check the event calendar, reserve when the group is four or larger, and do not confuse the singing-bartender show with karaoke—the audience requests songs, but Redd performs them.
