Editorial and Verification Standards

These standards explain how Florida 30A Directory researches, labels and corrects directory information and travel-planning content.
Verification levels
Online sources reviewed: A record received an external web-source review on the displayed date. This may include an owner-controlled site, responsible public agency, official tourism source, map provider or independent corroboration.
Partial online source review: A review was completed, but one or more fields could not be confirmed or sources conflicted. Visitors should use the linked primary source for the unresolved detail.
Baseline review pending: The record passed structural screening for required fields and usable links but has not yet completed the external source-review cycle.
Field verified: This label is reserved for a documented in-person check. The site does not use the label merely because a record appears in a map or another directory.
A verification label describes the scope and date of research; it is not a guarantee that hours, prices, inventory, access, ownership or policies have remained unchanged.
Source hierarchy
- Owner-controlled business websites and responsible government or public-agency pages.
- Official destination, park, event-organizer and transportation sources.
- Mapping and review platforms used for location or status corroboration.
- Independent regional sources used when primary information is incomplete.
- Visitor or business-owner corrections that can be supported with reliable evidence.
Original value and visitor usefulness
Guides are intended to help visitors make decisions through comparisons, route information, seasonal considerations, accessibility resources, parking guidance, neighborhood context and direct links to responsible sources—not merely to repeat business descriptions.
Automation and editorial review
Software may assist with sorting, duplicate detection, missing-field checks, link checks, date consistency and formatting. Automated processing does not create a field-verification claim, and conflicting evidence is retained for further review instead of being presented as certain.
Listings and standalone pages
Directory cards link to the business website or map result instead of automatically generating a separate indexable page for every record. A standalone feature should provide substantial reporting, original analysis, a useful tool or another clear value beyond information available from the business itself.
Advertising and affiliate independence
Advertising and affiliate relationships do not purchase a favorable opinion or automatic top placement. Affiliate links are disclosed and use appropriate link attributes. Product-category guides do not claim hands-on testing unless that testing is specifically documented.
Corrections, duplicates and updates
Clear correction requests are reviewed using the page URL, business name and supporting source. Updates may include contact details, community labels, source links, duplicate consolidation or removal. Event entries are checked against organizer sources and removed from the active calendar after expiration.
